DIYAbility is a new program focused on getting teens, young adults and people with disabilites involved with technology and making – not just for assistance but for self-expression, igniting curiousity and discovering the fun of DIY (Do It Yourself).

During the DIYAbility Teens microcamp we will have 3 sessions each building and exploring current open source tools and programs to Make Your World.

  • Session 1 – July 14 Programming – MIT Scratch and Processing
  • Session 2 – July 28 Maker Lab – collaborate, program and make
  • Session 3 – Aug 4 Simple electronics – Arduino, motors and toy hacking

We will also have a show and tell event of interesting projects that use computers in new and fun ways by ITP Students and Alumni.

When?

Teens who want to attend should be able to attend all 3 sessions.

  • Saturday July 14, 12:00pm – 3:30pm

  • Saturday Aug 4, 12:00pm – 3:30pm

Each teen should bring 1 parent or aide.

What should I bring?

Your ideas – if you could make one thing what would it be?
Bring your laptop and any assistive technology you might require to access your computer.(optional, we have a few laptops to share in the session but it’s best to bring your own computer if possible.)
